Job description
Durango School District 9-R is recruiting Licensed Substitute Teachers who wish to substitute exclusively with Durango School District 9-R in the 2023/2024 school year.
This position pays $250 per day and includes a full insurance package for health and dental insurance! Requirements for this position include:
- Valid Colorado teaching License, Colorado three to five year substitue license, or a Colorado substitute license and a letter from a university indicating that student teaching has been completed and the date when the individual will be eligible to apply for their Colorado teaching license.
- Candidate may be in process with their license at the time of application.
- Ability to secure transportation to all school sites within Durango School District.
- Must be available to work the student contact days for the 23/24 school year, Monday - Friday.
- Experience working with children.
- Experience working in classrooms as a contracted teacher or student teacher preferred.
- Ability to effectively engage students in lessons left by the classroom teacher.
- Ability to implement positive behavior supports within the classroom and create a highly productive learning environment
- Willingness to substitute in any classroom grades PK-12 and all special programs.
- Ability to uphold and adhere to school and district policies as well as state regulations.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
Compensation = $250 per 8-hour daily assignment
