The Vice President of Solutions (VPS) defines business and growth strategies and influences execution of strategies through organizational leadership and management. The role develops key strategies solving critical problems, and drives them to success through advocacy, influence, and direction. The VPS drives multiple major solutions and performs a strategic role in identifying macro-trends in solutions development and customer needs across a wide range of services and customers.
The VPS reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer and liaisons between the Vice President of Delivery, Chief Operations Officer, Chief Financial Officer, and program and project management leaders. The VPS advises the Chief Executive Officer on business strategy, customer relations, and market-related challenges and opportunities.
In addition, the VPS:
- Defines and drives strategic goals and/or initiatives for all solutions;
- Encourages growth, innovation, and collaboration so that delivery managers and their teams are operating at a high level of performance;
- Ensures synchronization of customer discovery across multiple related teams to ensure macro-trends are clearly identified across the customer base;
- Communicates strategic purpose and focus for solution development across delivery managers and related delivery teams;
- Prioritizes initiatives based on the strategic objectives of solution delivery and the company's objectives;
- Act as subject matter expert for solutions to share best practices across the company and within the customer base;
- Fosters relationships with internal teams to ensure successful implementation of strategy and delivery of services;
- Collaborates with delivery and operations teams to ensure that customer requirements are fully met;
- Influences future business strategy at the leadership and executive levels;
- Develops and maintains relationships with key stakeholders, partners, and vendors;
- Represents MSAG at events, conferences, and other functions, as needed;
- Provides employees with coaching, feedback, and developmental opportunities to enhance their skills, motivation, and performance;
- Maintains an atmosphere of respect, mutual support, flexibility, continuous learning, good humor, and commitment to business goals and customer needs to fulfill the company vision; and
- Establishes and maintains relationships and effectively communicates with customers, and senior management to raise visibility and ensure collaboration with appropriate key stakeholders.
Requirements:
Education:
- Undergraduate Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field.
Experience:
- 15+ years directly related experience and 5+ years of people management experience;
- Entrepreneurial experience managing multiple functions of an operation; and
- Proven success driving strategy in a comparable environment.
Skills:
- Expertise in solution development from inception to market;
- Adept at creating strategies to create or acquire valuable, differentiating solutions to create business value;
- Ability to multitask to meet tight deadlines;
- Proven track record of hiring and developing high performing teams;
- Ability to collaborate with and influence executive leadership; and
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate across the organization with all levels of leadership and management.
Travel Requirements:
- Periodic travel for collaboration and alignment.
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:
- Hybrid work schedule, working 1-2 days per week in our HQ office in Falls Church, VA.
- Reliable internet access for any period of time working remotely when not in an MSAG office.
