POSITION SUMMARY

The Sr Analyst – Business Systems serves as a liaison between the business community and the IT organization to provide technical solutions to meet user needs and align technology solutions with business strategies.  This role plans, designs, develops, and launches efficient business, financial, and operations systems in support of core organizational functions and business processes. The Sr Analyst – Business Systems gathers and analyzes data in support of business cases, proposed projects, and systems requirements and possesses expertise in the business function(s) they support, as well as, an understanding of the IT organization’s systems and capabilities.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

•    Analyzes business partner’s operations to understand their strengths and weaknesses to determine opportunities to automate processes and functions. 
•    Performs business process redesign and documentation as needed for new technology.  
•    Completes agreements and commitments by facilitating communication between business functional area(s) and IT from initial requirements to final implementation. 
•    Understands technological trends and uses this knowledge to bring solutions to business units supported to enhance the enterprise’s competitive edge. 
•    Translates high level business requirements into functional specifications for the IT organization and manages changes to such specifications along with educating the IT organization on the direction of the business.
•    Creates system design proposals and recommends buy versus build decisions
•    Prepares and delivers reports, recommendations, or alternatives that address existing and potential trouble areas in operating systems across the organization
•    Performs cost-benefit and return on investment analyses for proposed systems to aid management in making implementation decisions.
•    Creates systems models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide direction to system developers.
•    Performs tests, including end-user reviews, for modified and new systems, and other post-implementation support.
•    Provides orientation and training to end users for all modified and new systems
•    Additional duties as assigned.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

•    Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or related field
•    Advanced degree (MBA, Master’s) preferred
•    6+ years previous systems analyst experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
•    Periodic travel either locally, nationally, and/or internationally may be required.
•    High degree of proficiency MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications
•    Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills 
•    Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning)
•    Solid understanding and application of mathematical concepts
•    Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients
•    Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
•    Ability to work with and influence peers and senior management
•    Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting
