POSITION SUMMARY

The Community Outreach Coordinator at The Healing Place of New Hanover County (THPNC) will play a pivotal role in establishing and nurturing relationships within the community. The primary focus of this role is to raise awareness of THPNC's mission and services, build strategic partnerships, support events, and engage with various stakeholders to support the organization's goals of providing recovery-focused assistance to the underserved population in Southeastern NC.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential functions include but are not limited to the following:

• Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with Director of Development in implementing a comprehensive community outreach strategy to increase awareness of THPNC's programs and services.
  • Build and maintain relationships with community organizations, government agencies, educational institutions, healthcare providers, and referral sources.
  • Assist in supporting community events, outreach activities, and networking opportunities to promote THPNC's mission and enhance its visibility.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Development and other staff members to identify funding opportunities and support grant applications by providing community outreach data and insights.
  • Conduct presentations and educational sessions to raise awareness about THPNC's services, substance use disorder, recovery resources, and the importance of community support.
  • Serve as a liaison between THPNC and community members, responding to inquiries, addressing concerns, and providing information about available resources.
  • Utilize various communication channels, including social media, email newsletters, press releases, and printed materials, to disseminate information and engage with the community.
  • Track and analyze outreach efforts, maintain records of community contacts, and prepare reports to assess the effectiveness of outreach initiatives.
  • Stay informed about local trends, developments, and initiatives related to substance use disorder, mental health, and social services to inform THPNC's outreach strategies.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to integrate community feedback and insights into program development and improvement efforts.

  Qualifications:

  Education: Associates or Bachelors preferred but not required

  Knowledge of substance use disorder, mental health, and recovery support services.

  Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.

  Demonstrated ability to develop and implement outreach strategies, including event planning and coordination.

  Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.

  Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and social media platforms.

  Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.

  Valid driver's license and ability to drive company vehicle.
