Job description
Summary:
Effectively coordinates and manages the compensation and benefits programs to create valued total rewards offered to employees.
Essential Job Duties:
- Oversee and administer company benefit programs.
- Administer company job documentation, structures, and policies around total cash reward programs.
- Advises and informs employees of benefits-related changes, including eligibility, coverage, and provisions.
- Provide effective communications around total rewards to inform and educate all levels of employees.
- Researches and compares base and incentive compensation plans offered by demographically comparable organizations; assesses market data and recommends enhancements to keep the organization's plans competitive and effective.
- Facilitates accurate and timely delivery of employer contributions and employee payroll deductions to carriers, plan administrators, or other appropriate service providers.
- Completes records, reporting, and other documentation required by federal, state, and provider rules, regulations, and policies.
- Act as the liaison with brokers, carriers, and other contacts to resolve issues, claims, or general inquiries.
- Helps identify, select, and analyze new offerings, plan design changes, carriers, and plans based on quotes, financial impact, available benefits, and prior experience.
- Monitors administrators' and insurance carriers' reports to ensure the organization's compliance with plan requirements.
- Ensures the organization's and plans' compliance with the applicable provisions of COBRA, HIPAA, and ERISA.
- Maintains knowledge of economic conditions, labor market, and other factors, ensuring the organization provides competitive and reasonable benefits and compensation scales and structures .
- Coordinate and facilitate leaves of absence with employees, HR, Payroll, and managers to ensure proper application of federal and/or state requirements. company policy, and insurance coverage.
- Assist with statutory claims management with third parties for state disability coverage, and worker's compensation.
- Review vendor contracts, legal documents, government forms, policies, regulations, and invoices to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Research and recommend updates, changes, or new perks and workplace benefit options and programs.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, developments, and best practices in compensation and benefits administration.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications - Required qualifications to effectively perform the job. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered. (Additional requirements may be designated by position.)
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, business, or related required.
- Five years of experience administering compensation or benefits programs required.
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Extensive knowledge of employee benefits and compensation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent time-management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Thorough knowledge of COBRA, HIPAA, ACA, and ERISA requirements.
- Thorough knowledge of FLMA, ADA, and RA process, other state leave laws
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong proficiency with HRMS applications.
- Excellent customer service skills for sensitive or emotional subject matter
- Critical thinker with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective business relationships.
Work Environment - Environmental or atmospheric conditions commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job.
- General office setting. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
