Position Description:
As a Software Engineer/Consultant in Product Engineering and Management (PEM) within Global Data Insight and Analytics (GDIA), you will play a crucial role in enabling advanced analytics technologies in the Big Data space. Your work will contribute to improving the quality, design, marketing, and development of current and future products by creating a production-connected vehicle analytics platform. This platform provides valuable insights to Vehicle Engineers, enhancing product quality and value. We are seeking a full-stack Software Engineer with expertise in Angular, Java, and Python, utilizing proven Lean/Agile methods. While knowledge of Big Data tools and techniques is beneficial, it's not mandatory. You will collaborate closely with business partners, product managers, designers, and a cross-functional team, releasing early and often to deliver high-quality software products that meet customer requirements.
Position Responsibilities:
Work hands-on with the team and stakeholders to deliver quality software products meeting customer requirements.
Help business partners understand our iterative development approach, focusing on delivering a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) through careful prioritization.
Grow technical capabilities/expertise and guide other team members.
Skills Required:
Exceptional software engineering knowledge, with a strong understanding of Object-Oriented Design Principles.
Proficiency as a full-stack developer comfortable with Angular, Java, and/or Python applications.
Familiarity with Cloud Technologies such as Cloud Run, DataProc, and Big Query.
Basic understanding of Big Data and potential use cases.
Strong desire to learn new skills and apply them to solve business problems/opportunities.
Skills Preferred:
Demonstrated ability to architect a solution from design to delivery.
Ability to coach and mentor peers in day-to-day interactions and department-based forums.
Experience Required:
Minimum of 6 years of work experience in delivering customer-facing products.
At least 2 years of strong development experience in either Python (preferred) or Java on a Public Cloud Platform.
Experience Preferred:
Experience developing software for an Automotive/Manufacturing company.
Experience working in a large multinational company with diverse stakeholders and potentially competing objectives.
Education Required:
Bachelor s degree in computer science or a similar technical discipline.
Education Preferred:
Cloud Certification.
Hybrid Position - The candidate is required to be able to come on-site to the company's offices.
