Join Our Team: Accountant Needed at Wayne Township Landfill
Clinton County Solid Waste Authority is seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Accountant to join our administrative team at the Wayne Township Landfill . This is a crucial role, ensuring the efficient management of our financial operations, including payroll, payables, receivables, and assisting with budget preparation.
Purpose: The Accountant will oversee the application of accounting principles and help manage the financial aspects of the landfill, ensuring accuracy and compliance in all transactions.
Essential Duties:
- Compile and analyze financial information for journal entries.
- Manage Accounts Payable and Receivable.
- Implement improvements to accounting systems.
- Prepare budgets, financial statements, and reports.
- Handle bank deposits and payroll processing.
- Ensure accurate financial records and compliance with DEP fees and other regulations.
- Support company communication and safety practices.
- Other tasks/duties assigned by management as needed.
Requirements:
- Minimum two years of accounting degree and at least one year of relevant accounting experience or combination of education and experience.
- Valid driver's license
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and payroll/HRIS programs.
- Excellent time management, detail-oriented, and communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team setting.

- Office environment with occasional outdoor exposure.
- Requires flexibility, physical mobility, and customer service orientation.
- Ability to work independently and as a team.
