Job description
DeanHouston, one of the largest B2B marketing agencies in the US, is looking to add a Senior Content Marketing Writer to our Covington, KY, office. We are looking for an experienced, passionate, and talented individual who can bring fresh ideas, creative thinking, and exceptional writing skills to our team.
As a Senior Content Marketing Writer at DeanHouston, you will be responsible for creating engaging B2B content that drives brand awareness and generates leads for our clients. To excel in this position, you must possess excellent writing and editing skills and a strong understanding of developing content for audiences in industrial markets. You should be able to write for various mediums, including blogs, social media, website copy, email campaigns, white papers, case studies, and more. Conducting thorough research on industry topics and trends and using data-driven insights to inform your content strategy is a requirement.
In addition to being a skilled writer, you will also need to be a team player. Collaboration is critical at DeanHouston, and you will work closely with our account teams, designers, and other writers to ensure that all content is aligned with our clients' branding guidelines and meets their objectives.
Your responsibilities will include managing deadlines and juggling multiple projects simultaneously. Attention to detail is crucial in this role, as you will be responsible for ensuring that all content is error-free, creative, and adheres to best practices.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Content
- Creates informative and engaging content (white papers, articles, case studies, blogs, press releases, advertising, brochures, video scripting, etc.) that establishes the client as an industry thought leader while showcasing their products and gathering leads
- Develops related content for multiple platforms, including websites, email marketing and social media
- Follows an editorial calendar and collaborates with other members of the content team to ensure the timely delivery of material
- Completes drafts of content or finished projects within deadlines and on budget
- Uses search engine optimization (SEO) strategies in writing to maximize the online visibility of a website in search results
- Coordinates with design teams to illustrate articles
Copy Editing & Proofreading
- Reviews content for various campaigns to ensure it is accurate, clear and correct
- Proofreads for grammar, spelling and punctuation
- Ensures all-around content consistency (style, fonts, images and tone)
Research
- Familiarity with each client's brand image, products and services
- Conducts research for industry- and client-related article topics (combining online sources, interviews and studies)
- Knowledge of industry best practices and familiarity with the client's mission to inspire ideas and content
- “Deep dive” research on specific markets and applications for multi-stage Attack-A-Market programs
- Assists with Voice of Customer (VoC) surveys and research
QUALIFICATIONS
- A self-motivated storyteller and problem solver
- Ability to work independently with strengths in prioritizing and organization
- Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines across many clients and industries
- Excellent attention to detail
- Adherence to client style guides and policies for publication
- Fluid and flexible; able to change voice and tone based on the client's tastes and the specific content being created
- Understanding of branding and other basic marketing concepts
- Excellent decision-making and judgment skills
- Comfortable presenting for clients and new business opportunities
- Highly skilled in proofing for grammatical accuracy and style
EDUCATION and/or PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree with a focus in marketing, communications, advertising, public relations, journalism, etc.
- 5+ years of work experience as a content writer, copywriter, or similar role
- 3+ years of experience developing content for industrial products and services is preferred
- 5+ years of experience writing content for a variety of social media platforms (LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, etc.) is required
- Comfortable working in Microsoft applications (Word, Outlook, Adobe, Excel, PowerPoint)
- 3+ years of advertising agency experience is preferred
