Job description

Eastridge Workforce Solutions is hiring a Sewer Machine Operator for a company that specializes in the engineering and manufacturing of protection equipment for military, law enforcement and fire personnel. The ideal candidate will have Industrial or Commercial Sewing experience or maybe be an experienced Seamstress interested in going through a comprehensive training program. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Follow all safety precautions and work safely
• Maintain a basic sewing process, ie; changing / threading needles; changing bobbins, securing attachments
• Perform process steps in the manner instructed
• Maintain high quality of workmanship with attention to detail
• Achieve acceptable daily output
• Maintain excellent attendance, including overtime when needed
• Perform quality control checks
• Assure that process area remains clean and organized
• Provide feedback to area supervision on performance of process and equipment
• Other activities, as instructed, that will support improved safety, quality, and delivery

  REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Demonstrated aptitude / ability 

PREFERRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

• Previous experience in an industrial or commercial setting as a sewer or seamstress and / or willingness to participate in training program
• Experience with industrial sewing equipment such as Juki (or similar) sewing and tacking machines
• Garment-making, finishing skills and detail work experience (a plus!)
• Understanding of patterns, fabric cutting and prep (a plus!)
• Detail oriented, focused on consistent quality work
