Who you are:
MP's client is looking for a skilled Application Engineer to work with prospects and customers as the primary interface between the prospects/customers and the internal teams. They will act as a Sales Engineer to showcase the product and understand the customer's pain points. This role must be able to demonstrate, answer questions, and onboard customers to the suite of our client's products, primarily Compass and Compass PRO. The engineer filling this position is expected to become the primary application engineer to support the internal sales team. The engineer is expected to be able to provide a strong product demo, showcasing the strengths of the product, and answering technical questions regarding its use and implementation.
What you will be doing:
- Ensures all customers are as successful as possible with products
- Effectively communicates customer needs to the sales, marketing, and software development teams
- Is a motivated individual who drives their tasks to completion with minimal supervision
- Assists the sales team with prospects by demoing and conducting evaluation of products
- Onboards new customers
- Provides engineering services to improve customers' success with products
- Delivers regular training classes and seminars, update training to improve experience and content
- Works with the marketing team to develop content
- Attends conferences to provide support to sales, marketing, and our customer base
- Provides feedback to next iterations of templates per customer feedback, including user experience
- Gathers customer feedback on the user interface and provides design input for the next generation of software
- Follows up on customer's requests/projects in an Agile project management-type environment, including creation of user stories to drive development, resolve issues, or implement customer requests
- Provides guidance on compliance to standards and regulatory requirements in relation to application of the software
- Is flexible and adaptable to meet the frequently changing needs of a small and growing company
Our ideal candidate has:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering
- 3-5 years of experience in medical device product design, including design controls and risk management
- Familiarity with systems engineering, design engineering, or product development methodologies
- Experience working as a part of a cross-functional team
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Initiative to learn new concepts and be able to work independently
- Detail-oriented nature
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects at once, including reporting progress
- Basic level of understanding of software scripting or coding
- Flexible to travel up to 20%, flexible to work from home
- Product development experience in pharmaceutical or combination product companies
- Knowledge of requirements management and risk management software applications
- Skilled in developing relationships with customers
- Some coding or scripting experience
- Must have Medical Device/Pharma background
- Great presentation skills
