POSITION OVERVIEW We are looking for an experienced and hospitable
Host to present a positive first impression of our restaurant’s excellent customer service and high standards. Under a calm and cool demeanor, the Host controls the flow of the restaurant and knows what is always going on. For exceptional Hosts, it’s not just “hello” and “goodbye.” There is a genuine desire to accommodate guests and provide hospitality throughout the entire meal.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Greet all guests with a warm and cheerful demeanor upon arrival and departure
- Provide accurate wait times and monitor waiting lists
- Manage reservations
- Follow table rotation and balance customer flow in server sections
- Accommodate special seating requests for guests according to their preferences and group size
- Escort customers to assigned dining or bar areas
- Provide menus and announce Server’s name
- Create a welcoming environment by engaging with guests throughout their dining experience
- Maintain a clean and organized host stand and reception area
- Inspect tables for proper presentation and completeness
- Relay guest complaints to the Manager on duty and assist with the resolution
- Be available to fill in as needed to ensure a smooth and an efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the Manager or immediate supervisor
- Demonstrate the ability to remain calm and composed under pressure or when confronted with impatient or irate guests
- Embody and deliver on exceptional service and hospitality
REQUIREMENTS
- 2 years of previous/relevant experience in a high-end, high-volume restaurant
- Relevant certificates, licenses or registrations including a valid Food Handler Card (Must have upon hire)
- Proficient in Microsoft Suites: Outlook, Word, Excel; Open Table and Restaurant POS System
- Knowledgeable and compliant with health and safety regulations
- Able to walk or stand for long periods
- Must be eighteen (18) years of age or older
- A positive attitude, excellent communication skills and a strong work ethic
- Flexible schedule and availability to work daytime, evening and/or weekend shifts
