We are a dynamic and rapidly growing contract manufacturer specializing in private label consumer packaged goods (CPG) for personal care and pet markets. With a $30 million annual contract volume, our company, located in Azusa, CA, is backed by local private equity, anticipating continued organic growth and strategic acquisitions. Comprising a dedicated team of around 100 employees, we foster a collaborative and innovative environment. As we expand, we are seeking an enthusiastic individual to join us on this exciting journey. The role offers potential negotiation for a partial hybrid work arrangement (in-office and remote) for the right candidate.

General Overview:

Reporting directly to the CFO, the Finance and Accounting Controller position demands a proactive and motivated professional eager to evolve alongside the company. This role involves close collaboration with key decision-makers and offers a unique opportunity to contribute to our ongoing success.

Responsibilities:

1. **Financial Management:**
- Manage the company's accounting function in accordance with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP).
- Establish and document accounting policies and procedures, ensuring robust internal controls.

2. **Reporting and Compliance:**
- Prepare monthly financial statements, conduct financial analysis, and ensure compliance with lender requirements and debt covenants.
- Oversee month-end and year-end closings, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations.

3. **Team Leadership:**
- Supervise the Accounting team in daily operations, including billing, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
- Process bi-weekly payroll and collaborate with HR functions.

4. **Strategic Support:**
- Support acquisition activities and post-close integration processes.
- Collaborate with C-level executives in weekly leadership meetings, presenting monthly financial reports to drive strategic decisions.

5. **Additional Responsibilities:**
- Prepare and maintain monthly reconciliations, manual journal entries, and financial statements for board review.
- Manage the annual audit and support outside tax advisors in tax compliance returns.
- Assist with inventory control, cost analysis policies, and procedures.
- Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against budget.
- Provide finance and accounting support to operational management.
- Participate in special projects and analyses as required.

Qualifications:

- 5+ years of experience in mid-senior level finance or accounting role (manufacturing background preferred) with a total of 12+ years of experience.
- Big Four audit experience preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or management required.
- Advanced degree or professional certification (MBA/CPA) given preference but not required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word).
- Strong presentation skills and attention to detail.
- Proven analytical skills (financial and general).
- Excellent problem resolution abilities.
- Strong knowledge of ERP systems, Excel spreadsheets, and data analysis. Familiarity with Sage 300 for financials and Batch Master for ERP is a plus.
- Ability to relate to all levels of the organization.
- Professional demeanor with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be able to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
- Occasional travel may be necessary for meetings.
