Job description
Essential Functions:
- Develop and maintain complex system architectures for large-scale projects and complex hardware assemblies
- Ensure system availability, reliability, and scalability through proactive monitoring and performance tuning
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve system issues and improve system functionality
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including system diagrams, user manuals, and standard operating procedures
- Lead project planning and implementation efforts, including resource allocation, risk assessment, and project scheduling
- Stay up to date with emerging trends and technologies in systems engineering and identify opportunities to implement them in the organization
- Manage requirements traceability and evolution through the system development cycle
- Provide weekly status of system development progress with requirements burn down
- Allocate requirements to subsystem & engineering coordination
- Evaluate system performance thresholds and providing direction
- Work with Senior Staff Engineers in developing instrumented flight test vectors and data acquisition
- Provide input for model development and simulation analysis
- Review and interpret customer specification effectively
- Identifies, analyzes and resolves system design weaknesses. Influences the shaping of future products by contributing to the framework (architecture) used across multiple products or systems
- Work on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangibles
- Exercise judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results
- Determine methods and procedures on new assignments and may coordinate activities of other personnel (Team Lead)

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in systems engineering, with a focus on design, development, and maintenance of complex systems
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Perl, or Bash
- Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Chef, or Puppet
- Experience with cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to lead complex projects from planning through implementation
- Knowledge of industry standards and best practices for systems engineering, including ITIL, ISO, and NIST
- Has managed requirements traceability and evolution through the system development cycle
- Familiarity with electronics and systems related to image collection and analysis
- Ability to obtain/maintain a TS/SCI DoD clearance, U.S. Citizenship required
- Has developed systems test plans, procedures, and reports and reviewed and interpreted specifications
- Writing Systems Safety protocols and ensuring personnel safety during field testing
