Position Introduction
The Department of Earth Science and Geography at Vassar College invites applications for a one-year appointment as a visiting assistant professor in Geography, beginning fall semester of 2024.

Position Description
We seek a social scientist with geographical interests in human-environmental relations, and political economies with regional expertise in a global region. A Ph.D. or advancement to candidacy in geography or related fields is expected. The teaching load is 5 courses per year (2 in one semester and 3 in the other), preferably including an introduction to political ecology (possibly repeated in the second semester), an introduction to economic geography or regional course, a seminar on a topic of your choice, and a methods course.

Salary Wage Range
Pay Transparency Disclosure: The annual base starting salary range for this full-time visiting position is $84,000 to $88,000 (USD). When extending an offer of employment, Vassar College considers factors such as (but not limited to) candidates education/training, work experience, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations. This salary range represents the Colleges good faith and reasonable estimate at the time of posting.
