Job description

Job Title: Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) - First Assist

Location: Midland, MI

Responsibilities:

• Prepare the surgical suite for procedures by assisting the surgical technologist and registered nurse in gathering necessary equipment, instruments, and supplies.
• Ensure all supplies and equipment are available and in working condition.
• Assist the surgeon during the operation by providing exposure, aiding in hemostasis, closure, and other intraoperative technical functions.
• Perform tasks such as draping, retracting, suctioning, sponging, suturing, tissue handling, and cautery techniques.
• Apply appropriate dressing materials specific to the procedure.
• Collaborate with the operating room team to ensure the best results for the patient.

Requirements:

• 1+ years of First Assist experience
• BLS (AHA) certification
• NBSTSA, NCCT, or ABSA certification
• Travel experience highly preferred
• Two supervisory reference forms
• Skills checklist
• Cannot accept local candidates within 50 miles of the facility

Certifications:

• BLS (AHA)

Shift Information:

• Shift: Days
• Shift Times: 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM
• Hours/Day: 12
• Shift Notes: 6:30A - 7P (12 Hour Days) / 1 night of call per week & Every 4th Weekend (36 Hour Guarantee)
• Weekends: Every 3rd Weekend
• On Call: 1 night a week and every 3rd weekend
