Summary
Preparatory Art Teacher (FULL-TIME) Seeds of Excellence Christian Academy is a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation. Our vision is to become the exemplary model for Christian-based education as we provide Christian teaching dedicated to nurturing the whole child: spirit, mind, and body. Seeds of Excellence Christian Academy is a Christ-centered, educational learning academy dedicated to promoting and extolling the teachings of Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. We ascribe our core beliefs and philosophy to the principles and tenets of the Holy Bible, which we deem to be the inspired, infallible, and inerrant word of God. We encourage and prepare students to grow in their personal faith in Jesus Christ and to serve the Lord, their families, and their communities. Seeds of Excellence is located in Austell, Georgia and serves students from six weeks through 8th grade.
We are seeking a Christian individual who is interested in growing within our organization, supports our mission, has excellent communication skills, excellent technical writing skills, is very detail-oriented, and has the ability to work effectively ? both with a team and individually.
Duties Primary Functions & Essential Responsibilities - Art Teacher will be responsible for developing in each student an interest in and the ability for creative expression in visual terms, using skills and techniques of artistic expression consistent with school guidelines; to develop aesthetic understandings and appreciations; to discover and develop talents of students in the field of art.
- Leads the Art Club, with at least one Art Exhibition annually
- Evaluates academic and social growth of students, analyzes data, prepares report cards.
- Develops standards based lessons, units and assessments that focuses on teaching the school curriculum.
- Participates in staff meetings and professional development opportunities
- Develops a multi-cultural learning environment for all students that emphasizes a respect for diversity
- Facilitates ongoing parent/guardian communications and conferences to discuss student progress
- Shares best practices with other teachers and collaborates with them to improve instructional and assessment practices
- Establishes a class culture of high expectations that engages all students
- Must be flexible and willing to help in different roles at the school to meet various school needs
- Collaborates with key stakeholders as necessary to ensure purposeful implementation of the school?s academic model and provide student enrichment opportunities that enhance academic achievement and cultural competency
Requirements Qualifications & Experience - Minimum Bachelor?s Degree: degree in the field of education preferred
- Currently holds, or willing to gain, Certification in the State of Georgia
- English fluency
- Must support the school?s mission, philosophies and goals
- Experience with elementary/middle aged students
- Excellent organizational, planning and implementation skills
- Proven ability to demonstrate effective communication, professional standards and ethical behavior
- Ability to work effectively with school administration and school colleagues to ensure school culture and student achievement
- Must pass a criminal background check and fingerprinting
