The Opportunity:
PTW is seeking an Occupational Health Nurse to provide on-site nursing practices to our manufacturing facility in Rockyview County, AB!
The Occupation Health Nurse will support and contribute to the health of workers in all occupations through health promotion, health protection, and treatment of injury/illnesses.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides Occupational Health practices in accordance with company standards and all applicable regulations including WCB and OH&S in the provinces we operate in (Alberta, British Columbia, Saskatchewan, and Ontario.
- In collaboration with the operations group, manages and treats workplace injuries and illnesses including WCB reporting, and development of modified work plans.
- Provides emergency care/technical support to site emergency response planning including, but not limited to, hands-on medical emergency response, crisis management.
- Implements site programs, procedures and initiatives for prevention, recognition, and treatment of illness and/or injury.
- Facilitates disability case management by coordinating health care and early intervention to promote the safe and timely return to work of ill or injured workers.
- In conjunction, with the Director, QHSE, collects data and study it to measure the effect of workplace safety programs.
- Assists the health and safety team with identifying health and safety hazards in the work setting and suggest controls.
- Other duties as required.
- Always acts in a professional and confidential manner when dealing with sensitive employee and company information.
Requirements:
- Nursing diploma and/or BScN degree with 5+ years related practical experience (including medical emergency response) and holds a current RN license.
- Certification in Occupation Health Nursing (OHN) considered an asset.
- Previous experience working in an Occupation Health setting considered an asset.
- Must have current CPR/AED certification and Advanced ITLS or Advanced First Aid certification.
- Outstanding interpersonal, communication and organizational skills are essential.
- Strong work ethic, good team player, enthusiastic and ability to excel in a flexible, fast paced environment.
- Able to work independently with little or no direct supervision, while also being a valuable team contributor.
- Taking initiative and having a passion for positive results.
- Must be able to balance multiple priorities.
