Job description
Purpose of the Role:
Piedmont Landscape Management is a large commercial landscape maintenance and design-build company. We have been in business since 1977 and pride ourselves on delivering a turnkey product for all areas of the built environment.
Under the direction of the Construction Manager, this individual assists with the design and pricing of proposals for the Construction Division of the company. This individual provides supervision of the foreman and crews on the job site during the entirety of the job. We are a fast-paced organization and are searching for someone to come in and grow within the company.
Duties of the Entry-Level Landscape Architect/ Designer:
- Coordinates, supervises , and evaluates the work of the Piedmont Installation Division
- Uses AutoCAD, hand rendering, SketchUp, and other trade-specific software to provide designs
- Uses BOSSlm to create and change proposals
- Strives to meet/exceed goals set for the job position
- Supervises the use, care, and operation of landscape equipment; assists in maintaining equipment and vehicles and reporting items that needs repair or replacement to the Construction Manager
- Maintains a high level of good housekeeping and care of company assets in the field, vehicles, shop, office, and customer work sites
- Professional in appearance and actions
- Takes advantage of educational opportunities and completes the required coursework
- Reports issues and needs via BOSS; reports emergencies to the President, Construction Manager, and/or Account Managers
- May be asked to assist in special projects or after-hour emergency work
- Detects and corrects inefficient utilization of workers and equipment
Basic Knowledge Requirements:
- Degree in Landscape Architecture or Landscape Design
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Sketchup, Microsoft Office, and Photoshop
- Office Procedures and tablet operation
- Proper Equipment operation/ safety methods in landscape maintenance and installation
Abilities:
- Plan, organize, assign, inspect, and evaluate the work of the crew
- Motivate and evaluate staff and help with training and development
- Analyze landscape problems, evaluate alternatives, and make recommendations
- Develop and implement crew work standards
- Prepare clear and concise reports
- Communicate clearly and concisely
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, management, and clients (if required)
- Ability to reach established benchmarks for self and crew
- Soft skills including conflict resolution, coaching, and positive reinforcement
- Self-Motivated
Education and Experience:
- Degree in Landscape Architecture or Landscape Design
- 2-4 years in landscape maintenance or design-build preferred
- Valid Driver’s License
Hours of Operation:
- Monday through Thursday: 6:30 am -5:00 pm
- Friday: 7:00 am -12:00 noon
