The Manipulation Group at Amazon Robotics is looking for a Software Development Manager to join the team to help deliver core software components and cutting-edge solutions for our Robotic and Automation equipment across our fulfillment centers. We will provide you with fun tools and robots you need to invent with us in ways that are fulfilling and rewarding. Come join us!

Key job responsibilities
As a leader and manager of the team, you will be collaborating with business partners, software development engineers, testers, and product managers to design, implement, test, launch, and maintain new automation solutions for robots across Amazon Robotics. You will have significant influence on our overall strategy by helping define product features, drive system architecture, and spearhead the best-practices that enable a quality product. You will learn a variety of cutting-edge technologies, development processes, and develop well-rounded skills such as leadership, and effective project management. You will also be responsible for building a strong development team and developing career plans for the engineers reporting to you.

We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of engineering team management experience
- 7+ years of working directly within engineering teams experience
- 3+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams
