Job description
As a subject matter expert (or willing to become one) in General Electric B/E-Class gas turbine combustion systems, act as a primary technical resource in Core Engineering that will support the development of Pre-Mixed Dry Low NOx (DLN) combustion system components.
Salary Range for this position is $90,000-$140,000 based on prior experiences and relevant skills.
Job Responsibilities
- Engineering support for the development of Low NOx Pre-Mixed DLN Combustion systems
whose components capable of achieving a 32K hour inspection interval.
- General mechanical/manufacturing review of the parts and their manufacturing definition
-From component fabrication to final assembly
-Interface with other components
-Tolerancing, stack-ups, Flow testing, Flame dynamics,etc.
- Assessment and review of component design changes required during detailed manufacturing
process development and qualification with supplier.
Q/A review during initial manufacturing qualification and ongoing part production
- Resolution NCR’s, etc
- Material selection(s) and/or changes required to meet 32K inspection interval.
- Selection and development of specifications for manufacturing processes
Reproduction of manufacturing processes identified during component reverse engineering
(scans, detailed cutups, etc)
- Welding/Brazing/Coatings/etc
- Specify changes to the above manufacturing processes if component modification(s) are
required to meet 32K inspection interval and/or to avoid IP restrictions.
- Life Prediction (as required) to support above
- Perform design and analysis review in support of any component modification(s) required to
meet 32K inspection interval and/or to avoid IP restrictions
-Material Properties, Cooling/Flow design, LCF, HCF, Creep, Oxidation and Thermal
Barrier/Wear Coatings
Required Skills / Knowledge
- Knowledge and understanding of Combustion fundamentals as it relates to wet Diffusion Flame
and Pre-Mix Dry Low NOx technologies, with focus on General Electric B/E-Class gas turbine
combustion systems
- Understanding of Equivalence Ratio and optimizing the effect on dynamics and NOx/CO
emissions, 2D/3D CFD analysis, Static/Dynamic FEA
- Excellent communication skills and ability to effectively engage in technical discussions
- Fully competent in Microsoft Office Suite
