Job description

This is a HYBRID part-time position at our Allentown, PA office, during normal daytime business hours. We’re looking for a personable, enthusiastic Staff Accountant to help take our agency to the next level. Our ideal candidate is a motivated team player who can stay focused in a fast-paced work environment. This is a critical role and can be made into a full-time position for the right candidate. Compensation: $23 - $30 per hour commensurate with experience Responsibilities: • Responsible for Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Commission Payable • Perform direct bill, premium payable, producer/broker, and bank reconciliations • Prepare reconciliation of carrier commission statements • Perform month-end requirements, including journal entries, in a thorough and timely manner • Responsible for Agency Payroll processing and reconciliation • Resolve accounting discrepancies in a patient and timely manner • Other projects or items as needed Qualifications: • Insurance Agency bookkeeping/accounting professional with at least 3 years of experience in insurance agency finance • Experience with Applied EPIC is a plus • Strong bookkeeping or accounting knowledge • Strong attention to detail • Strong technical abilities • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, particularly Microsoft Excel About Company: Miers Insurance is one of the most established independent insurance agencies in Allentown and the Lehigh Valley, entering into our 131st year of business.
