Job description
Are you a Systems Engineer interested in the opportunity to assist in the move to a service architecture? Mission Intelligence Group is looking to hire a Systems Engineer - Senior.
In this role you will provide engineering services to assist the team in defining the to-be architecture, decomposing capabilities into solution/program epics, documenting and prioritizing the development baseline, integrating new customers and sources as required, and working with the development vendor to achieve the planned baseline. You will also provide services to the various projects dealing with intelligence and geospatial analysis capabilities provided to the intelligence community. Additional areas of involvement include: Structured Observation Management Services, Analytic Modernization Services, Exploitation Services, Orchestration Services, Advanced Geospatial Services, as well as requirements, architecture, and integration with a number of sensor-related programs.
Primary Responsibilities :
- Guides the planning, analysis/traceability of user requirements, architectures traceability, procedures, and problems to automate or improve existing systems and review cloud service capabilities, workflow, and scheduling limitations.
- Assists the Government in:
- The capture and translation of mission and customer requirements/needs into systems/capability requirements and solutions.
- Performing systems integration activities.
- Strategic technical planning, project management, performance engineering, risk management and interface design.
- Coordinates/liaises between Government Program Manager customer and DevOps teams utilizing Agile methodologies, Scrum and Agile Planning Tools.
- Supports the analyses and allocation of requirements to systems architecture components and executing programs.
Secondary Responsibilities:
- Occasional Travel (~10%) to contracted developer site (Denver, CO or other) for coordination, integration and engineering activities.
- Operates at the level of integrating multiple systems, services, processes, and interfaces within a Major Systems Acquisitions across organizational and agency boundaries.
- Guides Mid-level and Junior-level system engineers performing requirements engineering, solutions engineering, scheduling, reliability, resiliency, services development, integration, test and evaluation, maintainability and analysis across the National System of Geospatial-intelligence (NSG), Allied System of Geospatial-intelligence (ASG) and Federal Agencies.
- Guides Mid-level and Junior-level system engineers developing solutions designs based on analysis of requirements and new technology.
- Conducts Analysis of Alternatives (AoAs), Course of Actions (CoAs), Trade Studies, and Engineering Assessments
Qualifications :
Required:
- 12 years of experience in government or industry in relevant work areas including: DoD/IC Acquisition Process, Requirements Process, PPBES Process or system engineering of large complex System of Systems or Service Oriented Architecture/Cloud environments.
- Experience with and strong understanding of systems engineering lifecycle.
- Experience in Geospatial-Intelligence Analysis systems, tools and processes. eg. NGA analyst workflow and reporting methods.
- Experience coordinating, and strong communication skills, between customers, developers, users and/or other teams.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the current NSG/ASG and NRO enterprises.
- Experience with Agile development processes and tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence)
- Familiarity with development and integration of metadata catalogs and collections orchestration.
Desired:
- Working knowledge of Model Based Systems Engineering, processes, tools and languages.
- Working knowledge of Software Development Frameworks.
- INCOSE Certified System Engineering Professional (CSEP) certification.
- Documented work experience in the field of geospatial intelligence.
- Licensure as a professional engineer.
- Demonstrated expertise in photogrammetry, remote sensing, image science, information sciences, geographic information systems, geomatics, or related fields.
- Experience in engineering solutions using:
- Cloud Based Technology such as: Service Orientated Architecture (SOA), On-demand self-service, Broad network access, Resource pooling, Rapid elasticity, Measured Service, Software as a Service (SaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS).
- Structured and unstructured Big Data
- Automation, Augmentation and Artificial Intelligence technologies.
- Familiarity with GEOINT reporting systems as a developer or user is a plus.
Education/Certification :
Required:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Systems Engineering or in related technical or scientific fields such as engineering, physics, mathematics, operations research, engineering management, Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or related STEM degree program.
- 12 years of experience as a Systems Engineer may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Desired:
- Master's degree in Systems Engineering or in related technical or scientific fields such as engineering, physics, mathematics, operations research, engineering management, Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or related STEM degree program.
Security Requirements :
- TS/SCI clearance adjudication or ability to obtain SCI and pass a poly
