Responsibilities:
The Sous Chef’s primary responsibility is to monitor all tasks related to food service in a productive and efficient manner while maintaining a high quality dining experience. In the absence of the Executive Chef, the Sous Chef is responsible of supervision of all kitchen personnel.
Specifically, the Sous Chef would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
- Assist the Executive Chef in the direction and oversight of all culinary operations, to include, but not limited to, preparation and production of all hotel meals, monitor food quality and presentation, team member productivity and performance, implementation of policies and procedures
- Assist in setting up plans for cost controls and overall profitability
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, local and company health, safety, and sanitation standards
- Participate in the overseeing, training, and mentorship of culinary and utility support staff
- Demonstrate high degree of drive and determination
- Responsible for completing other job related tasks as delegated by upper Management
Requirements:
- High school degree required; Culinary degree preferred but not required
- 2 years of supervisory and/or leadership experience required
- Exemplary communication skills with the ability to lead a team
- Proficient with culinary techniques, etiquette, and terms
- Ability to work on your feet within a fast-paced environment
- ServSafe certification is a plus
- Strong organizational skills; detail-oriented and task focused
