SynergenX is looking for a Lab Specimen Processor to join our team!
POSITION IS ONLY PART-TIME. UP TO 29 HOURS PER WEEK
General Description: Specimen processors are primarily responsibilities includes checking a specimen's information for accuracy, entering specimen information into the computer, and ensuring the right department receives the specimen and information. They may be responsible for testing, but if so, it is likely that they are only assigned basic tests; more complex tests are performed by professional laboratory technicians.
Job Skills and Responsibilities:
· Verifying accuracy of client and specimen details.
· Examining specimens for adequacy and appropriateness.
· Capturing client and specimen data electronically.
· Sanitizing benchtops.
· Labeling, numbering specimens, and preparing aliquots to be sent out if needed.
· Centrifuging specimens.
· Disposing of specimens more than seven days old.
· Assisting clients and phlebotomists with inquiries pertaining to specimens' requirements and test turnaround times.
· Complying with applicable laws and regulations, and company procedures and policies.
· Loading and unloading specimens onto/from instruments.
· Performing QA/QC duties (eyewash checks, temperature logs, etc.)
· Completing training checklists and competency testing appropriately.
· Following all PPE requirements.
· All other duties as assigned.
Requirements :
High School Diploma
3 months experience and/or training
Shifts:
Position will float between the 3 shifts AM, PM and overnight.
Position is up to 29 hours per week,
Some weekend hours could be included
Hours worked during 5pm-5am earns an extra $3 pay differential
