Job description
The Pre Press Plate Maker is responsible for producing plates for the printing presses. This preparation is necessary tooling for the printing presses. A strong sense of quality and continuous improvement is required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Processing created press plate files to ensure plates are produced correctly.
Responsible for setting work according to production schedule while check job bags for accuracy.
Responsible for checking coating plates and vinyl are available for production.
Utilizing digital files to produce press plates (i.e. Image Setter and Esko CDI Spark).
Responsible for handling materials as prescribed by SOP.
Responsible for maintaining inventory as prescribed by SOP.
Deliver the plates and job jacket to the staging areas
Maintain equipment, Change processor chemistry (Image Setter, Processor)
The candidate is responsible for complying with all cGMPs, SOPs, Safety, and Company policies
All other duties as assignment by management.
Desired Skills and Experience:
High School degree or equivalent required
Minimum of 2 years experience as Plate Technician required.
Intermediate technology knowledge required (i.e. MAC and/or Window platforms)
Organizational and time management skills a must.
Previous experience in pharmaceutical folding/carton environment preferred.
Demonstrated knowledge of working in a quality driven environment preferred.
Previous experience using an ERP system preferred.
Key Skills and Attributes:
Solid understanding of safety awareness, PS9000 Quality System, and the processing of high security product.
Intermediate Mathematics
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (i.e. Excel)
Organized
Detail oriented
Multi-tasking abilities
Physical Requirements:
Position regularly requires lifting up to 50 lbs.
Position requires manual dexterity to reach/handle items, work with fingers.
Ability to bend, reach, and pull on and around equipment and the facility.
Ability to work in tight spaces.
Working Conditions and Environment:
Position may cause exposure to dust, fumes, and odors.
Position usually entails lifting and carrying of items and using pallet jack.
Position may experience periods of frequent overtime on weekdays and weekends.
