What you will do:
- Partner with the Executive Director and leadership team to facilitate change management
- Promote diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives with a cross-cultural and cross-generational understanding
- Use your HR subject matter expertise to manage compliance with federal, state and local employment law and regulations and recommend best practices
- Support leadership team in monitoring performance and ensuring compliance with established standards and implement new standards when infrastructure grows or changes
- Lead recruitment process in collaboration with hiring managers
- Partner with safety, payroll and IT to carry out ongoing initiatives
What we’re looking for:
- A seasoned HR professional with hands-on experience across the HR disciplines and a business partner mindset
- Prior non-profit industry experience contributing to successful and complex organizational change
- Confidence in having difficult conversations with people in positions of authority
- Self-motivated, proactive and resourceful in fast paced, changing environments
- Thorough knowledge in California employment law and regulation
- SHRM-CP or PHR certification highly desired
- Experience with a disability, the disability community and/or independent living philosophy preferred
- Bilingual in Spanish and/or American Sign Language (ASL) preferred
