Registered Dietitian - MIT Recreation (Cambridge, MA)

Part-time, 10 hours/week

MIT Recreation , managed by HealthFitness is looking for a part-time Registered Dietitian to work on-campus in Cambridge, MA . In this role, you will providing individual and group programs and presentations to the MIT Recreational Sports community including students, families, faculty/staff and other members of the MIT community.

What you'll be doing

• Interact directly with the MIT community in one-on-one nutrition coaching.
• Create and delivery custom and packaged interactive nutrition lectures.
• Contribute to the business planning and writing blog posts on topics related to nutrition and health promotion.
• Continually evaluate and enhance service delivery channels through program resources.
• Facilitate discussion around nutrition topics including, but not limited to: sports performance and hydration, estimated daily dietary calorie budget, food diary, mindful eating, physical activity to manage weight, portion control, healthy meals and snacks, nutrient-dense foods, eating triggers and cravings, reading food labels and healthy grocery shopping tips, eating healthy while eating out, hidden calories in sweets, alcohol, treats, facts about low-carbohydrate diets, dealing with slips, nutrition for endurance training, meal planning, eating for energy, etc.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure confidentiality of data collected through nutrition coaching.
• Stay abreast of current food, nutrition and health issues and research relating to sports nutrition.
• Represent MIT Recreation in client sponsored events and activities.
• Other duties as assigned.

What you'll need to have

• Bachelor’s degree in clinical nutrition, food and nutrition or related area required.
• Registered Dietitian certification required.
• 2 years minimum experience in nutrition counseling, with an emphasis on sports nutrition required.
• CPR/AED/First Aid certification from American Red Cross, American Heart Association or American Safety & Health Institute required.
