Student Victim Advocate

Primary Purpose:
Reporting to the Associate Director of Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS)/Director of Training, the Student Victim Advocate serves as a confidential resource as the University's Victim Advocate. The Student Victim Advocate works collaboratively with the Title IX Coordinator, the Care Managers, the CAPS Clinical Case Managers, the Gender Equity Center, Pride Center staff, Student Conduct and Community Standards, the office of the Dean of Students, staff, students, and faculty to best support students. This position provides confidential and trauma-informed advocacy and support services for survivors by helping individuals learn about their options and rights, assisting with safety planning, providing legal and medical accompaniment, and/or offering academic assistance. This position serves as a resource for all three campuses (Stockton, Sacramento, and San Francisco).

Frequent sitting and verbal communication with occasional walking and standing. Infrequent bending, stooping, kneeling or reaching above shoulders. May be expected to lift up to 25 lbs. Use of computers, phones, and other technology.


Work Environment/Work Week/Travel:
Work is primarily performed in clinical or office environment, with some outreach performed outdoors or on other campuses. Work is split between standard business hours and non-business hours depending on the needs of the students. Moderate travel.


Valid drivers license required. Incumbent must also be able to meet the Universitys fleet rules and be eligible to drive for University business. The University and its insurance carrier reserves the right to exclude applicants based on their driving record.



Hiring Range: $33,280.00 per year. We consider factors such as, but not limited to, scope and responsibilities of the position, candidates qualifications, internal equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
