Transmission Line Design Engineer
Utilities - King of Prussia, PA - Full Time
Ardmore Roderick is seeking a Transmission Line Design Engineer to join our innovative team and support the design, analysis, and construction of aerial transmission lines for Utility Industry clients.
The successful candidate must demonstrate the following minimum qualifications:
- · Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- · Proven practical experience in Transmission Line design, with 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience.
- · In-Depth knowledge of aerial electrical transmission system design principles, practices, and industry standards.
- · Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software, such as AutoCAD or PLS -CADD.
- · Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and propose innovative solutions.
- · Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- · Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high-quality standards.
- · Willingness to travel to project sites as necessary.
Preferred qualifications include:
- · Engineer in Training (EIT)
- · Professional Engineer (PE) Certification
Duties & Responsibilities
- · Design and engineer aerial electrical transmission systems, including power line towers, conductors, and related equipment, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- · Ability to develop and review right of way requirements, conductor sags, tensions, transmission line plan and profile drawings and other construction documents.
- · Conduct feasibility studies and analyze electrical transmission requirements to develop cost-effective and efficient solutions.
- · Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including project managers, contractors, and field technicians, to ensure seamless implementation of designs.
- · Prepare detailed engineering drawings and documentation, including specifications, reports, and technical drawings, using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software.
- · Participate in project planning and progress meetings, offering technical expertise and recommendations.
- · Perform site assessments and inspections to assess existing aerial electrical transmission infrastructure and identify areas requiring upgrades or modifications.
- · Stay updated with the latest industry trends, standards, and technologies in aerial electrical transmission engineering and design.
