Job Description:

Coordinator of Academic Advising and Transfer Services

MCCC Unit Professional position, Grade 6

Campus Location: Lynn/Danvers campus

Work Schedule: 37.5 hours/week. 4 days on site, 1 day remote (telework is subject to change based on the needs of the department and/or College)

SALARY RANGE: Anticipated starting salary is $70,120.00 - $75,880.00. Actual salary will be commensurate with education and experience in accordance with the MCCC/MTA collective bargaining agreement. GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:

The Coordinator of Academic Advising and Transfer Services plays a crucial role in facilitating a seamless academic experience for students by implementing comprehensive advising services and supporting smooth transitions for those seeking to transfer. This position is instrumental in fostering student success, ensuring academic continuity and facilitating the transfer process for students pursuing advanced educational opportunities. This position will manage the day to day operations of the academic advising team as well as managing the operation of transfer services including but not limited to transfer fairs, training of NSCC professional advising staff and faculty advisors on MassTransfer, Commonwealth Commitment, and keeping up to date with articulation agreements. This role requires a combination of administrative skills, interpersonal skills, organizational acumen, and a commitment to student development. The primary duties include:

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Coordinate and implement advising resources and develop training materials and communication plans for professional advisors and faculty advisors.
  2. Manage the day to day operations of the professional advisors, including but not limited to scheduling, training, filling in when necessary either in CentroHub or the Student Success Center and being an available resource.
  3. Coordinate and implement the advisor assignment process.
  4. Oversee and coordinate the delivery of transfer services including but not limited to: providing up to date transfer information, specifically MassTransfer and articulation agreements, updating course equivalency information.
  5. Design and maintain transfer websites and promote the website as an advising tool and provide advisors with web access to transfer course equivalency, articulation agreements, transfer applications and more.
  6. Coordinate college transfer fairs and college transfer day programs.
  7. In collaboration with members of the NSCC community, i.e. TRIO Support Services, R.I.S.E. Program, etc., arrange visits to four-year colleges and/or college fairs.
  8. Coordinate individual visits by four-year college personnel and on-site admissions days.
  9. Create and implement workshops on preparing for transfer.
  10. In collaboration with the Assistant Dean of Academic and Student Development assist with the coordination and management of articulation agreements.
  11. Compile, analyze and report various transfer statistics.
  12. Collaborate with Institutional Research to produce an annual transfer report using data from the National Student Clearinghouse.
  13. Participate in College Activities, including but not limited to Commencement, Convocation, Governance, etc.
  14. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:






PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Bilingual in Spanish
  2. Community College experience
  3. Must be comfortable serving the public face to face or remotely using technology and able to work effectively both independently and in a fast-paced, high-traffic environment
