The referral coordinator provides services for all sleep center patients in order to improve coordination of care and testing and increase treatment compliance in an effort to maximize the overall patient care experience. The referral coordinator handles order review and ensuring all necessary documentation is received upon chart creation. Referral management requires working with internal and external offices to obtain the necessary orders and documentation and works closely with outreach team for physician office needs.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education required/ preferred:
- High School Diploma or GED Required
- 2 year College Preferred
Experience:
- At least 2 years of experience working in scheduling environment
- Must possess knowledge of ICD10 Coding, CPT, and Medicare/Medicaid requirements
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Patient Coordinator with sleep services
- Must possess clerical skills, i.e., writing, filing, typing,
- Must have exceptional communication skills to be able to communicate with referral sources, clients and patient care staff.
- Proficient usage of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Interpersonal/human relations skills
- Customer service skills
- Ability to respond to questions in a tactful and professional manner
- Ability to make basic numerical calculations
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to maintain accuracy
- Ability to interpret accounts and records
Job Type: Full-time
