Job Description

A QC Technician role is available at one of the world’s best flavors and fragrance companies in Winter Haven, FL. As the QC Technician, you perform all analytical testing as required in support of both process control and quality assurance operations, and provide accurate, timely recording of test results. You will have a good understanding of gas chromatography gained through previous work experience. You will also perform routine analysis with the following laboratory instrumentation:

• Gas chromatograph (capillary)
• pH meter
• Densitometer
• Refractometer (electronic)
• Polarimeter
• Colorimeter (comparator)
• Wet Aldehyde Titration

You will spend your time: 

• Using highly skilled technical knowledge of chemical processing to produce chemical compounds. 
• Testing all samples in a timely manger, and logging and organizing the resultant data. 
• Using technical equipment and knowledge of chemical manufacturing processes to test incoming samples
• Using basic computer applications knowledge to enter and organizing completed testing data
• Organizing and maintaining the lab 
  

Job Requirements

Required Skills:

• Must be able to read and follow written instructions
• Must be effective with verbal communications
• Capable of working both independently and in a collaborative setting
• Knowledge of basic laboratory analyses like physical testing, titration, and color comparison based analyses
• Good record-keeping skills and exceptional attention to detail
• Can adhere to Good Laboratory Practices
• Able to organize and prioritize. This position requires the technician to simultaneously analyze multiple samples from multiple sources
• Able to perform simple algebraic calculations

Required Experience:

• A.S./B.S. in Chemistry, Biology or a related field is preferred.
• 3+ years experience quality testing using analytical equipment is preferred.
• Must have basic computer and computer applications experience.
