THE POSITION: We are looking for a Materials Manager. The pay range we offer is $90,000 to $130,000 per year with a signing bonus of $10,000. We offer a generous compensation plan based on industry standards and your experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES: The Materials Manager is responsible for directing and overseeing all Operations involving Planning, Receiving, Warehousing, Shipping, Customer Service and the Trucking operation. Works with management team members to support company and facility goals. The Materials Manager will plan, direct, and monitor all materials planning, inventory control, storage, shipping, and receiving activities so that the organization has access to the inputs, materials, goods, and services it needs for its current and future operations. The Materials Manager will also develop and implement materials handling procedures; monitor the cost and effectiveness of activities to optimize resources; prioritize spending; achieve volume; timeliness; reliability; safety standards; oversee the maintenance of inventory control systems that track the status of purchase orders; inventory levels; production requirements; interpret inventory requests; production schedules; orders; other documents to co-ordinate materials handling activities with the organization's current and anticipated demand for goods and materials. The Materials Manager will lead a team of professional and para-professional staff so the organization has access to the materials and inputs it needs to operate.
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management.
Minimum 5 years' experience in a Materials Management role.
Demonstrated experience in Material Requirements Planning (MRP), inventory control, shipping and receiving.
Experience in: JDE, AS400, Stratum, Manugistics or JJ Keller.
Advanced MS Excel skills required with Executive Level summaries.
Problem Solving methodology in 5 Whys Pareto Kaizen or Lean Manufacturing.
COMPETENCIES:
Excellent interpersonal & communication skills & demonstrated successful ability to build positive. partnerships while working collaboratively with cross-functional business teams.
Demonstrated successful ability to organize & prioritize work to ensure timely deadlines.
Ability to function at a high level of effectiveness flexibility independence & initiative without daily. interaction with management.
Proficient computer skills required including Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to lift 35 lbs. Team Oriented & supportive of others Maintain good Safety & Housekeeping practices.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
Familiarity with plumbing industry & consumer products.
