Job description
Business Associate 1 Billing and Finance Location New Orleans, LA (Central Business District area) : The Business Associate 1 Billing and Finance will perform all the duties necessary to ensure quality customer service for policy and certificate holders, brokers, vendors and other stakeholders. The basis for achieving quality customer service is consistency in maintaining departmental performance standards in the administration of policy billing, premium collection, banking transactions for client self-funded benefit plans, payment of broker commissions and consulting fees, vendor payments, accounting, reconciliations, and client and/or broker reports.
- Timely prepare and upload or transmit weekly, bi-weekly, monthly or annual bills generated by Pan-American. Compare and reconcile employer self-bills to Pan-American system eligibility.
- Monitor premium receivables on a daily basis. Execute collection process and timely deliver payment reminders and/or past-due notices of delinquency for non-payment.
- Monitor premium received into Unapplied Premium Suspense on a daily basis. Reconcile clean premium and post within 48 hours of receipt to extend benefit coverages for client plans.
- Timely process member termination requests received from clients and/or Account Management. Audit to insure claims have not been paid subsequent to the requested term date and to confirm retro-terminations are effective no more than 60 days from the date of the received request.
- Timely respond to clients, brokers, third-party administrators, Account Managers and RSVPs, as needed, to resolve billing discrepancies and issues, and to provide information regarding commissions and other processes that are triggered through the billing function.
- Complete other assignments and special projects, as requested by Department Leadership, including but no limited to banking, preparation of journal vouchers, and reporting required by clients, plan sponsors and brokers.
Education & Experience Required: High School Diploma, 0-1 Years of Experience Preferred: College Degree KSAs - Problem Solving
