Required Relevant Education & Experience:
An earned PhD degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology in Automotive or Mechanical Engineering or anything relevant to automotive (a foreign educational equivalent is acceptable). ABD is acceptable but the PhD must be completed by May 2024.

Job Summary:

This position includes teaching responsibilities in the Automotive Engineering Technology (AET) program such as automotive drive trains, automotive chassis, body control systems, engine fuels and lubricants, engine thermodynamics, advanced vehicle technologies, and advanced automotive electronics and computer management. The AET courses are primarily delivered in on-campus, lab-based format. Opportunities exist to teach in other undergraduate programs an at graduate levels. Other responsibilities include serving on university committees, curriculum development/improvement, advising students academically, performing appropriate scholarly research, and professional service within the guidelines of the University.

The Assistant Professor of Automotive Engineering Technology could be assigned to teach any of the following courses: AET 132 - Theory of I.C. Engines 3 Credits; AET 233 - Engine Systems and Controls 3 Credits; AET 239 - Automotive Chassis 3 Credits; AET 330 - Survey of Motorsports 3 Credits; AET 334 - Automotive Drive Trains 3 Credits; AET 335 - Body Control Systems 3 Credits; AET 336 - Engine Fuels and Lubricants 3 Credits; AET 433 - Service Facility Organization and Management 3 Credits; AET 435 - Engine Thermodynamics 3 Credits; AET 437 - Advanced Automotive Electronics and Computer Management 3 Credits; AET 477 - Advanced Vehicle Technologies 3 Credits.

Qualifications:

An Earned PhD degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology in Automotive or Mechanical Engineering or anything relevant to automotive (a foreign educational equivalent is acceptable). ABD is acceptable but the PhD must be completed by May 2024.
