Job description
Encore is an industry-leading, full-service fire protection company serving all New England from offices in Maine to New Jersey. We need a high energy and dynamic Purchasing Specialist to join our procurement team based in Pawtucket, Rhode Island headquarters.
The ideal candidate for our position is someone who has experience in procurement within a high volume industry.
As a Purchasing Specialist you will be working directly with the procurement manager and team, other members of our Finance team, as well as Encore vendors.
This is an opportunity to play a meaningful role in the transformation of the procurement function as we grow to be the largest full-service fire protection company in the Northeast. This role will be challenging but extremely rewarding.
Here is what you can expect:
- Organize product requests to identify best vendor based on price, location, and availability.
- Place accurate orders with suppliers, ensuring correct pricing, parts, and delivery schedule.
- Work closely with product managers to communicate material availability and details to maintain project schedules and confirm project material availability.
- Work closely with Accounts Payable and internal business partners to promptly resolve supplier payment issues, dispute resolutions, and implement corrective action plans.
- Maintain relationships with suppliers by taking ownership for all tactical activities related to purchased product and participate in the negotiation of pricing and other key terms.
- Track price trends and deliverables and be able to effectively communicate these details to procurement manager and relevant Encore employees.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years experience procurement of materials in a high volume, service industry.
- Strong attention to detail and operations diligence, with strong skills in data entry.
- History of working well in a fast paced environment with ability to adjust to various tasks.
- Reliability to work full time in our Pawtucket, RI office with potential office relocation available.
- Preferred: strong Microsoft office skills, and strong ability to learn and work with purchasing/inventory based software systems
