Job description

Job Title: IT Procurement Category Manager

Location: Marlborough, MA, 01752 (hybrid in office 2x a week. Tuesdays and Wednesdays)

Duration: 6 months Contract (Temp to Perm role)

PR: $50-55/hr on W2

Summary:
The Global Sourcing and Procurement (GS&P) organization is a trusted partner to our myriad of business functions. GS&P partners with stakeholders to understand their needs and help them achieve their goals. We currently have an opportunity for an experienced IT Category Manager to manage over $300m in spend for assigned IT software, hardware, services and SaaS.

Responsibilities:
Develops and leads cross-functional sourcing and supply management strategies that contribute to optimizing over $4.9B of annual indirect goods and services spend
Creates and executes global strategic category plans including demand management via sophisticated tools and methodologies in collaboration with internal global business partners
Evaluates and actively challenges current product or service requirements across all client brands and geographies
Looks for opportunities to leverage multi- divisional, multi- region requirements and aggregate spend to create larger sourcing pools for increased savings and value
Studies and tracks global strategic market dynamics and their implications on cost, quality and risk
Anticipates global trends and manages their impact on products and services
Systematically and strategically searches for innovative products, services, approaches and strategic models such as off-shoring, out-sourcing, consortia development, best country sourcing and more
Develops and implements communication strategies to ensure accurate and timely flow of information across all levels of the organization
Manages global strategic supplier relationships while balancing tradeoffs of risk, quality and cost
Manages the rationalization of supply base for all categories under responsibility
Maintains fair, respectful and productive relationships with all suppliers and reinforces positive brand image within the supplier community
Leads contracting and contract compliance within specific categories and identifies opportunities for improvement with the functions and operating divisions
Stewards the value created by GS&P and collaborative teams to stakeholders and senior management to reinforce commitment and involvement
Develops negotiation plans aligned to desired outcomes, drives negotiations

Requirements:
Developed financial and business acumen along with proven analytical skills and the ability to leverage data for storytelling
Advanced negotiation skills and proven experience leading negotiations with major IT providers (ie. Microsoft, Oracle, IBM)
Significant experience managing multi-national stakeholders and suppliers
Demonstrated presentation skills with experience and comfort presenting information to executive leaders
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to influence and build effective working relationships with internal and external partners in a rapidly changing environment
Comfortable collaborating and partnering across business functions and regions
Diverse in-direct spend category experience must include IT Services, Software, Hardware and SaaS
Experience with contract management, spend analytics, sourcing optimizations tools such as GEP, Coupa or similar e-sourcing P2P tools
Advanced experience using MS 365 Suite
3-7 years strategic sourcing, procurement and category management experience
Experience managing direct reports
Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain, Finance, IT other related fields, Master Degree preferred
Preferred certifications: CPSM, SCMP or CIP
