Sundance is looking for a talented and enthusiastic Assistant Buyer to join our Footwear & Accessories team. Sundance is a leading omni-channel specialty retailer with headquarters located in Salt Lake City, UT. Summary:
The Assistant Buyer, Footwear and Accessories supports the buying team in the execution of the buying process by owning key administrative functions of footwear and accessories and delivering on expectations with a high level of accuracy and accountability. As a key owner of the communication process, the Assistant Buyer communicates product information both externally to vendors and internally to cross-functional departments. Maintains in-house product databases to ensure product information is updated timely and accurate. Responsible for overall sample management and organization, prepares for product presentation meetings, and assists with in communicating key deadlines to cross-functional teams to ensure deadlines are met.
What you'll be doing:
- Inputs calendar date deadlines in Outlook for notification of order deadlines.
- Partners with the footwear and accessories sample room team member to process and allocate samples internally and externally.
- Maintains accurate and well-organized product racks by effort. Organizes and monitors the location of all samples and ensures they are available for meetings, as needed.
- Assists the Buyer in preparing samples, sample racks, and meeting set up for all meetings, including having accurate product information noted in line with process expectations and printing and/or emailing assortment sheets to all attendees prior to meeting.
- Photographs, labels and files all samples inline with set process to support building of Assortment Sheets and Product Information sheet (PI sheet) development.
- Creates and maintains accurate assortment sheets, which includes organization and management of digital photography and filing, as directed by supervisor.
- Handles assigned vendor correspondence including collecting product information for Product Information sheet (PI sheet), communication of adopted styles, sending fit comments, and sharing sample or TOP feedback, as outlined and directed by supervisor.
- Creates, manage and maintain the Product Information sheet (PI sheet) for buy process and copywriter process.
- Obtain all cost/MSRP information and MOQ’s for each item prior to presenting them for each effort.
- Present product to the copywriters for copy to be created and follow ups with copywriters with
additional information
and updates as needed. - Manage and track all photo samples, communicate deadlines to vendors, follow up before due date, and communicate to team their status.
- Participates in the Pre Walkthrough process in support of VP of Fashion in preparation for the Walkthrough Meeting.
- Compiles, prepares, and delivers the most updated samples to the creative team to ensure deadlines for photoshoots are met.
- Check dimensions and heel heights in all Design to Production process (DTP process) and Bluelines to ensure they correctly reflect the item. Tracks all DTP comments to support accurate execution.
- Checks digital catalog before printing for accurate care instructions and content instructions in line with Product Information sheet (PI sheet).
- Attends all mandatory meetings.
- Participates in special projects, as needed and directed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion preferred
- 1 year experience in a similar environment preferred, commensurate education and experience will be evaluated
- Experience with Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator a plus
- Excellent time management and ability to prioritize tasks
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Ability to listen, communicate, and follow direction
- Detail oriented and highly organized
