Job Description:
This position manages a large functional Industrial Relations area or multiple, more complex functional areas, or a single large project at the corporate level or within an operations center. Plan and execute management functions of the Industrial Relations function, including Area Labor Market Analysis (ALMAs), appropriate labor posture and execution approach, labor contract negotiations, employee relations issues, coaching/counseling, etc. Additionally, the role is tasked with budgetary responsibility and supports a major segment of the company’s Industrial Relations activity and is typically located at corporate headquarters or operation centers. This position has a good working and background knowledge of aspects on Industrial Relations, deals with complex situations holistically, and sees the overall ‘picture’ and how individual actions fit within it.
• Direct one or more Industrial Relations functions or one or more significant corporate projects with budgetary responsibility
• Maintain a close working relationship with operational management to ensure that Industrial Relations services are being properly executed and that business needs are being met
• Manage and coordinate the daily activities of the Industrial Relations functions and Industrial Relations managers
• Set priorities for the Industrial Relations managers to ensure task completion and makes decisions that are guided by policies, procedures, and business plan
• Independently responsible for assignments within the Industrial Relations function and must have an in-depth knowledge and understanding of Industrial Relations procedures
• Other duties as assigned
