The Opportunity
We are seeking a Segment Strategist to spearhead CC&I's expansion into emerging markets. This role will be crucial in assessing the feasibility and potential of entering new markets, developing comprehensive go-to-market strategies, making informed investment decisions, and presenting compelling proposals to senior management for approval.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate Emerging Markets: Conduct in-depth market research and analysis to identify opportunities and risks in emerging markets relevant to our company’s products/services.
- Develop Go-to-Market Strategy: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to formulate and execute effective go-to-market plans tailored to each target market, considers competitive value proposition, market dynamics, competitive landscape & resource needs.
- Investment Decision Making: Utilize financial modeling and analytical tools to assess the financial viability and ROI of market entry strategies, including potential partnerships, acquisitions, or organic growth initiatives.
- Present Recommendations: Prepare and deliver clear and concise presentations to senior management, outlining market assessments, strategic recommendations, and proposed action plans, effectively articulating the rationale behind each decision.
- Monitor Market Performance: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and monitoring mechanisms to track the performance and progress of market expansion initiatives, promptly identifying deviations from targets and implementing corrective measures as needed.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Foster strong relationships with internal stakeholders, external partners, and industry experts to gather insights, garner support, and facilitate seamless execution of market entry strategies.
- Stay Abreast of Industry Trends: Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes affecting emerging markets, proactively adapting strategies to capitalize on emerging opportunities and mitigate potential threats.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or related field.
- Experience in strategy consulting, corporate strategy, business development, or related roles, with a proven track record of successfully driving strategic initiatives in emerging markets.
- Strong analytical skills, with proficiency in financial modeling, market research, and competitive analysis.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to distill complex information into actionable insights and effectively influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Strategic mindset, with the ability to think critically, anticipate future trends, and develop innovative solutions to complex business challenges.
- Proven project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Adaptability and resilience in navigating ambiguity and evolving market conditions.
