Job description
The Histotechnician for the Department of Comparative Pathology will primarily be responsible for preparing stained histologic slides from formalin-fixed tissues derived from necropsy examinations of nonhuman primates. Additional duties include preparing frozen sections and slides from frozen tissues, paraffin block and slide maintenance, lab equipment/supplies maintenance, and other lab duties, as assigned.

- Strong organizational skills and ability to effectively manage multiple assignments
- Proficient computer skills and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office word and excel software applications.
- Self-motivated and ability to work independently
- Bachelor's degree or Medical Laboratory Certification
- Four (4) years directly related work experience in histology
- Bachelor's degree in Laboratory Science
- Four years' Pathology laboratory experience
- ASCP Histotechnician Certification
