Job Description:

Ridgewater College has an opening for a full-time veterinary technology faculty position teaching the laboratory techniques, clinical skills, and pharmacology courses.  The instructor must be comfortable with current and emerging laboratory practices and techniques, technology and equipment operation and maintenance, and safety standards.  Additional course instruction to be determined upon hiring.  Applicant must demonstrate a knowledge of and interest in diverse cultures and populations

Required Qualifications:

Education Requirement

• Associate degree in veterinary technology from an American Veterinary Medical Association ( AVMA ) accredited program or doctorate in veterinary medicine.

Occupational Experience Requirement

• Three full-time years (or equivalent) of verified related paid work experience in veterinary medicine or technology.

Recency Requirement

• One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field. The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years.

Professional Requirement

• Current Minnesota credential as a Certified Veterinary Technician

Preferred Qualifications:

• Fear Free certification.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Dedication to excellent veterinary laboratory techniques and patient care.
• Proficiency with educational technology and learning system.

Other Requirements:

NOTICE : In accordance with the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities (MnSCU) Vehicle Fleet Safety Program, employees driving on college/university business who use a rental or state vehicle shall be required to conform to MnSCU's vehicle use criteria and consent to a Motor Vehicle Records check.
