It’s an exciting time to be part of IFF, we are looking for a Technical Manager – Perfumer, Citrus to join our Scent Innovation Team. The function will be at our New Citrus Innovation Center in Lakeland, Florida, USA starting in the 1st quarter of 2024.
We are seeking an energetic, passionate, and result-oriented individual to join our global team as Technical Manager -Perfumer for our Scent division.
Join IFF as a Technical Manager – Perfumer, Citrus, and make a difference! The role is in our Nourish platform but will be covering the IFF Citrus Innovation activity of our Scent product lines.
Purpose:
In the frame of a major innovation program on Citrus ingredients for Fragrance, we are looking for a Technical Manager/Perfumer who will assist the Citrus Innovation Manager, Scent in all the steps of developing new ingredients and promoting the new natural ingredients portfolio. The specialist will provide technical product and application support helping the creative perfumer- and sales teams. In this function, you will develop a deep analytical and olfactive knowledge of citrus and have a good overview of the citrus extraction processes and their impact on the quality of scent applications.

Job Description:
- Acts as a natural olfactive expert who likes to provide support to creative, application, and R&D teams to design new citrus ingredients, and to sales teams to advise our main customers.
- Develops natural innovative ingredients answering to specific customer requirements (hedonic, stability, physical-chemical, costs).
- Has a strong knowledge and experience in Natural ingredients for F&F, especially Citrus: extraction processes (from the fruits to specialties), analytical chemistry, and applications.
- Ensure compliance with regulations and customer product requirements.
- Provide technical support to creative, R&D, quality, procurement, fragrance ingredients, operations, regulatory & commercial teams.
- Address Tox, stability, and technical issues or improve citrus ingredients performance.
- Propose and execute margin improvement initiatives through value engineering of our product portfolio and material rationalization.
- Maintain continuity of supply through proactive management of raw material issues.
- Maintain excellent communication both vertically and horizontally within the organization, liaise and actively collaborate with stakeholders in cross-functional teams, and drive results to maintain project delivery according to timelines.
- Support the creative catalog portfolio manager in managing the lifecycle of the citrus raw material catalog.
- Maintain excellent relations throughout the Citrus ecosystem in support of our Citrus agenda.
- Contribute to the innovation pipeline by sharing industry insights and expertise.
- Have a legacy of technical creativity to develop technical insight & recommendations that support project decision-making, category strategy, & customer propositions to highlight IFF product advantages.
Job Requirements
- Master's degree in Science & Technology, Cosmetic and Perfumery, Chemistry or related discipline or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years of experience, preferably within the Fragrance Industry experience or internal relevant experience in adjacent industries (preferably FMCG, chemical /Fragrance Ingredients/ naturals).
- Experience with Fragrance formulation, having developed technical skills and Olfactive skills.
- Data-focused curiosity to liaise with industry partners. Proficiency in data mining, analysis, insight generation, and drawing conclusions.
- Demonstrated project management, negotiations, and problem-solving skills
- Proven ability to work independently, juggle multiple priorities, and complete responsibilities in a fast-paced, change-oriented environment.
- Proficient in operating Microsoft environment programs
- Excellent presentation skills and ability to effectively communicate concepts and technical projects.
- Proven ability to develop and maintain effective work relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Able to travel all around the globe to meet project customers, IFF creative teams, and partners
- Fluent in English – additional languages are a plus.
The position works closely with the Global Citrus Innovation Team with matrix links into the LMR Naturals team and Scent Division peer groups.
