Job description

Ensures accurate and reliable data collection by implementing standardized protocols and training staff on proper data entry techniques. Conducts regular audits to verify the integrity of the data being collected and addresses any discrepancies immediately. Additionally, collaborates with healthcare providers to continuously review and improve data collection methods to ensure accuracy and reliability. 

– Monitors and analyzes key performance indicators and quality measures in the ICU
– Develops data collection processes and protocols to ensure accurate and reliable data
– Collaborates with healthcare providers to implement evidence-based practices and quality improvement initiatives
– Utilizes data management software to track and report on quality improvement goals
– Provides regular reports and presentations on performance metrics to stakeholders
– Identifies trends and patterns in data to drive continuous improvement efforts
– Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and accreditation standards related to quality and data reporting

Examples of key performance indicators and quality measures that may be monitored and reported on in the ICU include: indwelling urinary catheter and central line audits, ensuring accuracy and completeness of stroke documentation while instructing providing feedback in near real time, maintaining daily  records of trauma admissions and ventilated patients, and keeping accurate records of hospital-acquired conditions.

Tracking these measures can help identify areas for improvement that support interventions to meet the unit’s quality improvement goals that ensure high-quality care delivery in the ICU. 

Qualifications:
– Masters in Nursing preferred- Bachelor’s degree in nursing required
– Strong background in data analysis and quality improvement in a healthcare setting
– Knowledge of clinical best practices and evidence-based guidelines
– Proficiency in data management software and statistical analysis tools
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
– Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

Thoughtful analysis and reporting to the ICU leadership team is essential in this role as driving quality improvement efforts and ensuring high-quality care delivery in a critical care environment is a collaborative effort.
