Job description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Answer telephone calls within standards set forth in TPA contracts
• Process claims within a designated authority level
• Verify and analyze data used in settling claims
• Maintain customer records by updating customer information
• Resolve service problems

Education/Experience:

• A minimum of (3) to (5) years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Bachelor’s degree (BA) from a four-year college or university; or (5) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills: The employee can read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. The employee can write routine reports and correspondence.

Math Skills: The employee can calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. The employee can apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability : The employee can apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. The employee can deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Analytical Skills : The employee can visualize, articulate, and solve both complex and uncomplicated problems and concepts and make decisions that are sensical based on available information. Such skills include demonstration of the ability to apply logical thinking to gathering and analyzing information.

Computer Skills : To perform this job successfully, the employee should have basic computer knowledge. Basic knowledge is defined as basic typing (letter and numbers), Microsoft Office knowledge and knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems.

Other Skills and Abilities : The employee must know how to deal with customers. The employee has knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records and other office procedures and terminology.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to perform data entry for extended periods of time. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
