Job description
We have an immediate opening for a Facility Security Officer in our Chantilly, VA office. The candidate must be self-driven and results-oriented team player capable of effective multi-tasking. As the Facility Security Officer (FSO) you will be responsible for managing the Peraton Facility and compliance of all programs at the facility.
Job Description:
- Manages day-to-day operations of the Chantilly Facility Security Program, leading compliance, and developing a security program that enables the business with the following actions:
- Oversees the Personnel Security program and security clearance process for employees through DISS and other customer databases.
- Maintains the facility clearance status of the facility through NISS
- Oversight of the processing of new employee security clearances to include actions within government systems of record DISS.
- Oversees the Physical Security program and document control accountability.
- Maintain a security education training and awareness program to include indoctrinations, annual refresher training, debriefings, and program specific training
- Administers foreign pre/post travel briefings in accordance with government requirements.
- Effectively manage inquiries or investigations. Prepare incident reports and mitigation requirements as necessary.
- Update all security management systems with personnel actions taken.
- Administer and coordinate security activities for classified contracts in accordance with company policies and procedures and contractual obligations to ensure compliance.
- Establish and maintain liaison with government agencies, external customers, Peraton employees, and managers.
- Administer day-to-day program, operational and administrative security support to PMO, government, program personnel.
- Develop, review, and maintain Program Protection Plans, Security Classification Guides and Policy documents.
- Provide classification management support and reviews.
- Attend and support program team meetings and provide program guidance, decision, policies, and procedures.
- Responsible for interpreting policies and develops/implements appropriate security plans and procedures.
- Submits FCL Sponsorship packages in NISS.
- Provides prescreen information for prospective new hires assigned in iCIMS.
- Verifies security clearance status for visitors and potential new employees, subcontractors, and consultants.
- Responds to investigator requests for info on current/former employees.
- Pass and exceed minimum expectations with government assessments and inspections.
- Administer and coordinate security activities for classified contracts in accordance with company policies and procedures and contractual obligations to ensure compliance.
- Establish and maintain liaison with government agencies, external customers, Peraton employees, and managers.
- Ensures the proper preparation and review of draft/original/revised DD254s.
- Tracks status of contracts and provide updates to the Security Director.
- Leads self-inspections and DCSA Vulnerability Assessments of programs.
- Perform other duties as required.
- BS/BA degree, or equivalent security experience, to include 5+ years of security office administration and facility security experience.
- Additional work experience may be considered in lieu of degree
- 3+ years of experience using government security regulations, manuals, and processes, to include the NISPOM, NISPOM Supplement, DCSA security manuals, and OPSEC principles in a mid-to-large Federal Contractor.
- Experience in an MFO applying and working with the Department of Defense policies and the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM).
- Current DCSA Facility Security Officer Certification from CDSE.
- Active TS security clearance, ability to obtain SCI access.
Preferred Experience:
- Prior SCI security experience with SCI eligibility
- Prior experience with SIMS
- Self-driven and results oriented, capable of effectively working multiples tasks.
