Job description
ORDERS Construction Company is looking for a junior, entry level project estimator / engineer.
Responsibilities: - Analyze project plans and specifications to determine the scope of work and materials required - Prepare accurate cost estimates for construction projects, including labor, materials, and equipment - Collaborate with architects, engineers, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for estimating purposes - Utilize construction estimating software, such as B2W, to create detailed and comprehensive estimates - Review and evaluate bids from subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing - Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure the availability of materials at competitive prices - Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits to assess project requirements and conditions - Prepare detailed take-offs and quantity surveys to accurately estimate material quantities - Create and submit proposals to clients that outline project costs, timelines, and deliverables - Collaborate with project managers to develop project budgets and cost control measures
Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field (preferred) - Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations - Excellent mathematical skills and attention to detail - Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities - Ability to read blueprints, drawings, and specifications - Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers - Strong negotiation skills to obtain competitive pricing from vendors and subcontractors - Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
