Software Systems Engineer II to work in Troy, Michigan:

In the automotive industry, capture customer requirements for specific software programs by reviewing documentation and ask questions of the customer’s software and release team. Analyze and document customer and company’s internal software requirements and generate internal functional specifications for software. Document customer software functionality in cases where it does not exist to define general functionality and to provide fundamental interaction procedures. Create functional test specifications to document testing required for company’s software. Perform testing to confirm embedded software functions according to the functional specifications. Report issues identified by testing to the rest of the software design team for corrective action and collaborate with the software design team to resolve issues . Perform testing to confirm software defects have been corrected and update issue tracker system. Develop and maintain software system testing tools, and configure the tools for specific projects. Perform testing to reproduce identified issues and provide support to company’s Integration and Quality Assurance teams. Develop the plan and schedule for the software system engineering activities needed to meet customer and manufacturing milestones. Maintain software open issue lists. Release official software to support manufacturing facilities. Participate in the evaluation and analysis of RFQs and change requests (man hour and function point) to assess technical feasibility, provide cost, and schedule quotations. Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering (or equivalent based on evaluation of academic credentials, training and/or experience) as well as twenty-four (24) months in job or job related experience to include job duties listed above.
