Job description

We are seeking a candidate who is thoroughly prepared to teach full-time in the Middle and Upper School division for the 2024-2025 school year as part of the Science Department. This role will involve a combination of teaching middle and upper school science courses. Specific course assignments will be determined by the strengths of the candidate and the needs of the department; likely teaching assignments would include Class IX physics and a middle school physical sciences. This role would also include supporting our robotics program at both the Upper and Middle School levels and working in the school’s maker lab in the newly-constructed Murray Science Center (completed in August 2023). The ideal candidate will have an advanced degree in Physics, Engineering, or an adjacent field.

• Two or more years of teaching experience
• Experience with lesson preparation and curriculum development
• Ability to build strong relationships and rapport with students and families
• Outstanding written and oral communication skills
• Ability to communicate effectively within the school community
• Efficient and hard-working with strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Commitment to maintaining high professionalism
• Highly collaborative
• Experience with or interest in competition robotics, particularly FRC
