Overview of Role
The Designer I role will focus on designing modified standard products as part of the product design team at our new Technology Development Center located at our St. Louis, MO headquarters. The role also includes support and troubleshooting with our manufacturing teams to meet quality and delivery goals. Team members will work directly with our inside sales team for product requirements for each design and will report directly to the Engineering Team Leader.
Your Key Responsibilities will include: - Responsibilities include interpreting customer requirements, defining design specifications and preparing documentation packages for our manufacturing teams.
- Interpret customer provided prints and CAD models
- Create and revise documentation in support of product and process design and development
- Technical support to production, sales, customer service and purchasing.
- Work with a team to develop innovative solutions to customer requirements
- Ensure projects are completely in a timely manner
Qualifications: - High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Two-year Associates degree in design, drafting or engineering preferred
- Demonstrated proficiency in 3D CAD is preferred (SolidWorks)
- Experience reading engineering drawings is preferred
- Demonstrated understanding of electrical principles and Ohms Law
Additional success factors: - Experience in product design highly preferred
- Must be an active contributor to foster a team environment
- Ability to solve routine, simple problems
- Ability to work with minimum direct supervision
- Ability to self-manage activities and seek feedback and guidance from others when needed
- Detailed oriented
